This is proof, that each day we have is a gift that is to be enjoyed to the fullest! Let us all enjoy what we have for as long/little of time that we have. God bless you, Matt, and your beautiful memories!

Matt, i really didn't get to watch The May 23rd bout with you and Serra, I heard all he has had to say about you, and to me i agreed with some of his comments about you in the beginning.

I did not know you well enough , but thought i could see some of what he was saying about you.

After , reading your inspiring blog, and noticing Serra continually disrespect you as a fighter amongst the sport.
I saw a certain quality you held of hope and faith within.

I believe you matured with this type of fight once before, it seems to be energy one channels when and to the right place to harness the power.

I used to do MMA, when i was 14 through 17 sparring around and at karate practice, type stuff.

I hope, people can see the real Matt Hughes, behind the comments Serra labeled you with.

All I could see is what hateful comments would come to mind, with the smug smile and bully type attitude Serra painted you with.

It really started to piss me off when i saw, Serra going beyond a champion type attitude and start making beyond the normal attacks on you.

It was a display of lack of respect towards Martial Arts , altogether regardless of tradition or the sport and sportsmanship.

btw, a great poem of humility and understanding of how big we think we are and how small life can make us .

I truly believe in God's existence, and that everything has its reasons for happening, or happens for a reason.

And we grow from it .

Thanks Matt for being a true Champion ~

u r a scholar and a gentleman as well.

Hey Matt, Thanks for putting such an inspirational story on your site!
I know a lot of people are pulling for you this Sat. ..myself included!
I had the honor of meeting Olympic wrestling champions John and Ben Peterson at a wrestling camp ( solid believers ..... men of integrity ) and they told me that Colossians3:23 was and is a very motivating scripture with their wrestling( both were very ferocious and aggressive competitors)....so I thought I'd pass it along-
"Whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart, as working for the Lord"
Sincerely,
Mark Jeffers-Chicago

Hey, brother. That was a very touching story. My niece is just went through chemo, at Childrens Memorial in Chicago. She has a really rare disease, called mavelonic acidemia. Anyway they did chemo to kill off her immune system. Apparently they can give you a new one. The cool thing about all that she's gone through in her six years of life so far, is family members that were "unreachable" have gotten saved. Plus being at the hospital opens up alot of ministry oppertunities. I've seen some of the kids we've prayed for healed. A muslim come to Christ, and a whole lot of other cool stuff. God is so great!!! You should check it out sometime. I can tell you're a humble dude. But, you inspire people. You are a hero in the eyes of alot of people too. I could go on forever, but I won't. Just wondering if you check these things. And, also if you might be interested in a visit there sometime. It could lift the spirits of the kids, and their parents. I'd wish you good luck in the fight against loud mouth, but you don't need it. Aside from having the Lord on your side, you will dominate that loser.

I am much like you actually same height and wieght almost, i love the country and hate the city, and I am a meat and potato person as well! I also love the outdoors. Thanks again for sharing that moving story. You inspire me Matt.

The Wedding posting is eye opening. I've always admire you, I can tell that you're a down to earth person. We don't realize the thing that we just take fir granted in a daily basis until someone in our family goes through something very challenging in life then we realize how lucky we are. I know you're a good men. I met you at the Arnolds this year and I was so excited to have my picture taken with you by my husband but unfortunately it wasn't save in my phone. Thank you for having the opportunity to share this with you.

Wow, what an inspiring story, a story that can bring all races, black, white red, brown together. This reminds us (which isnt often) that although there is much hatred in this world, this is something we can ALL agree on, we love, and we lose, yet we do our best to move on. Im in tears, not for her losing battle, or for his loss. But that we ALL feel these emotions, but that most feel compelled to dismiss and compare eachother. This womans life should teach us all that ....... well i dont know what to say. However if i have half the courage she did. Im not a religious man, but i pray that her and nick will meet again. I envy Nick for having such a pure soul in his life, and i feel his pain for his loss. Im sure her story will inspire others, as it has me.
