Good Luck Matt!!! Its going to be a tough fight but break his spirit and will and he will crumble!
April 28th, 2011 at 11:56 am
Matt please smash this guy…you have his number. I know you’ll win this!!!!!!!!!
April 28th, 2011 at 12:13 pm
You should win this fight…. as long as you take the fight to the GROUND!!!! He is tough as nails standing up, and we all saw your last fight….so plz for the love of god LAY AND PRAY and be a BLANKET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
April 28th, 2011 at 12:16 pm
Seeing from his last fight with kampmann I don’t know if anyone can “break” Diego’s will. It will be a tough fight.
April 28th, 2011 at 12:28 pm
I don’t like this match up at all.. I’d be worried about Diego coming out like he did against Clay, this has been matt’s weakness. Not a good match up at all
April 28th, 2011 at 12:31 pm
U are gonna win Matt… U are the best! Good Luck!
April 28th, 2011 at 12:57 pm
Matt,
Huge fan, have followed you since your first UFC title. Sherdog posted an article about Royce Gracie wanting to fight you when UFC goes to Brazil. Honestly, I think Royce would embarass himself and you would pound him just like the first fight. Have you heard anything about this? And if so, what do you think about it?
April 28th, 2011 at 2:29 pm
Hope to be there! I live in Colorado Springs and would kill to see you fight live!

I think Matt can take diego. I think BJ Penn can help Matt since Penn already beaten diego
April 28th, 2011 at 6:12 pm
just start doing ‘no’ cartwheels and it will break his spirit!
April 28th, 2011 at 6:23 pm
A much better fight that I would personally wanna see is against Royce Gracie in Rio this summer!!
April 28th, 2011 at 9:56 pm
caleb, Why would you rather see hughes fight gracie in Rio. Because it would be a “for sure” win for matt. If Hughes has no interest in fighting hallman because he feels “superman” isn’t on his level, then why would he take a fight vs Gracie. We all read how that book ended a few years ago. A fight with Diego is a much better fight for hughes all-be-it a way tougher one.

good luck matt. ur my hero and i hope u pound that big mouth. me and my 7 year old will be watching.

I can’t wait for this fight. Matt you are the man and I can’t wait to see you shut diego up!
April 29th, 2011 at 12:46 pm
Matt, I know you can do this. Just get out there, and do what you’ve been doing since 2001. I’ll be praying that God is with you in the ring, and that he gives you strength and endurance to run this race. Good luck, and God Bless
April 29th, 2011 at 6:08 pm
Matt,
Remember, “The joy of the Lord is my Strength”.
Diego is just a man. Should be a good fight.

just read that osama bin laden is dead. at first i was happy, then i thought of all the soldiers who got us to this point who are no longer with us. im glad this came to the conclusion of his death, though they gave thier live for it, and paid the price, removing this terrorist was worth it. god bless all those who gave protecting all of us and thank you for making this world that much safer.

What an intriguing matchup…Could be heavily contested standing up or in wrestling or a bit of both, very evenly matched in all areas of MMA. I think Matt will grind this one out with superior wrestling.
May 2nd, 2011 at 5:12 pm
Matt, that’s awesome!! This is a good fight and you will ground and pound!!! I can’t wait to see you back in the octagon. God Bless

Hey Matt, I dont know if you will ever personally see this, but if you did, I was wondering if you ever thought about training with BJ for this fight. BJ is an amazing fighter, and he already holds a win over Sanchez. Also, Sanchez trains with Greg Jackson, who is an amazing trainer. Im sure BJ would have some great advice, and could really help you if you asked him. But either way, I’ll be praying for you, and routing for you. Remember, God is in your corner, and though Him you can do all things. God Bless

wow matt, just read a report from bleacher that you got into a tussle at some bar the other night. hope you are fine, and that it blows over. I went to the 129 event this week and saw my fair share of issues. its sad that we only go out from time to time and people(drunks) have to act like teen agers, taking the few times we go out to enjoy ourselves away from responsible adults. hope your fine, and i hope no one was hurt that did not need to be.

May 27th, 2011 at 5:39 am
Don’t underestimate Sanchez, his conditioning is top notch and no one can break his spirit so to all of you claiming so should probably watch his fights before saying something like that. Diego is a machine, strong as hell. I would dare to say that Diego Sanchez and Matt Hughes are very similar, strong wrestlers with submission skills and good stand up game, the question here should be who’s the better chess player.
Just be cautious and don’t get caught!
Having that said, looking forward to seeing you and Diego go to war, Matt!
May 27th, 2011 at 6:34 pm
Man we all know you got what it takes matt and regardless if you win or lose you will always be the greatest in my mind. Good luck bro and show everybody that wrestling is better than anything else you can learn

August 1st, 2011 at 9:56 am
I hope the night before the fight Diego does not get lucky and have a thunder storm to absorb energy from or you might be in trouble.
August 14th, 2011 at 10:59 am
i believe if randy coutor can come back and win the hevey weight title in his fortys thin there is no reson why matt cant beat diago and make a run for the title bottom line.
August 28th, 2011 at 8:49 am
Matt for the love of God please train your ass off and take this fight serious don’t just show up. My family has been watching your career and been fans from the beginning. So please make us proud here in bettendorf where you started and kick Diego’s ass my cousin who trained with you, and I do not want to see that crying litttle bitch running his mouth at the end of the fight. We want to see you talking to Joe Rogan at the end of the fight explaining how you beat the shit out of Diego. ” Go Hughes “!!!
